Back at it

I did an awesome workout yesterday. I went out of order because I was feeling the need for fast & furious. I got it with WO 4 of the plan Wendy sent me for April; 5 exercises done in giant sets of 8, followed by 8 Tabata intervals of squat/overhead presses (basically a push press). I got it done in less than an hour & was soaked through when I was finished. It was AWESOME!

I wanted to quit after 5 sets but kept telling myself that quitting at 5 sets would not help me achieve my goals. I needed to keep going. When I was done I was SOOOO glad I didn't quit.

Today I'm going to do some sort of cardio. I haven't decided what yet. I'm feeling lazy & that always makes it difficult to get my butt to the "gym;" aka my basement. I'm thinking about trying some TRX stuff mixed with kettlebell swings.

I got on the scale today with a little trepidation. I was worried about what kind of damage I may have done with my lack of concern for my eating during the last 2 days of travel. I gained 3 lbs. However, I am also being visited by Aunt Flo. The gain could be a combination of bloat & binge. I'm not concerned as I am back on track.

I've got great meals packed for the week & have been clean & hyrated for 2 days. It's going to be a good finish to the month.

Great job Deb! Be careful you don't overdue the functional-type workouts (like the TRX/kb stuff) with the intense weight training circuits. It's OK to do a steady-state .... boring yes, effective, still yes. :)

Oh, see, now I'm going to have to get on the freakin' elliptical instead. Thanks for chiming in!!! Really. I'll take my copy of The Body Fat Solution & read to keep my mind occupied.

Great job, Deb! Squat press tabatas are brutal :)

If Wendy gives you the go-ahead to try some metabolic conditioning circuits on the TRX, check my blog for ideas. I've been doing a combo of Alwyn Cosgrove-designed strength circuits plus TRX metabolic work lately, and I'm liking it a lot.

Good job! And yeah, don't sweat the scale. You already know why it's saying what's it saying. It will be back to normal and on the downward slide in a few days! :)
