I thought I would leave work early today to hit the gym. Didn't happen. Tracy is still without access to the network because of all of the security clearance crap so she can't do much work & I feel bad just having her sit around reading instruction manuals that only leave her with questions. So I stuck around.
I did Cardio Coach Vol 1 tonight but instead of allowing our little friend, Coach Sean, lead me through regular intervals I kicked it up a notch & did full out sprints. I did the warm-up one the bicycle & jumped onto the elliptical after. I was going to do it all on the bike but wanted to be sure to get another form of equipment in to keep the body confused.
Funny thing...I went downstairs thinking I would do Rachel's Get Metabolic. I didn't have the mental energy that would require. I felt lazy. So I did CCV1 & put it in overdrive. Can anyone tell me how that would have been any different? Oh, yes, Sean did the thinking for me. I just couldn't do it myself tonight.
I had a Dorito today. One. It was YUMMY! I wanted the whole damned bag. I walked away at one. Otherwise, perfect day. Totally on program. Am having a pumpkin smoothie now.
In keeping with learning to eat clean, I tried butternut squash the other night. Never had it before. I baked it in a covered dish with a little water & then mashed it. I seasoned it with a little sea salt. OH MY GOD!!! I LURVE IT!!! John & Erin like it too. I now have another yummy vegitable to add to my repetoir.
I was going to buy a spaghetti squash but it was going to cost me $7. FOR ONE FREAKIN' SQUASH. Are you kidding me? Yeah, not this girl. That's insane.
I just looked at what I'll be doing over the next 8 weeks. NROL-O FLIII is INFUCKINGSANE!!! I am extremely excited about hitting that. I'll be starting it right around Christmas if I keep up the schedule I'm currently one. Just in time for the holiday treats that I won't be eating. LOL

Good going. I don't have any of the Cardio Coach workouts but I generally like mp3 workouts for things like timed drills in particular. It's nice not to have to look at a clock or my watch to know when time's up.
I should try cooking up a butternut squash this weekend. I've honestly never cared much for squash, sweet potatoes, etc., but I think that may be because I've never had them prepared in a way that appealed to me. Candied yams completely repulse me, and don't get me started on the marshmallow-yam horror that shows up so often at Thanksgiving dinner!
My experience with butternut squash began about 3 weeks ago...I had never had them before either. It's even yummier when you bake it mixed with granny smith apples. Cinnamon would probably make it ROCK.
Yay! Good job with the CC1 -- and it's just as effective as doing a bodyweight cardio circuit. Sometimes squat thrusts are just too much, KWIM?
Alas: I have bad news for you .. squash is a starch, not a veggie. :(
So wait, I'm confused...Summer Squash is a vegetable but butternut squash is not??? NO NO NO! Dangit
pretty much, sorry!
whether something is clarified as a starch or veggie has something to do with some iodine test or somesuch. Basically it has to do with sugar/fiber content.
zucchini/summer squash = veg
a lot of winter squashes = starch
:(
ps let's try this:
