Proud of me!

I just finished up NROL-O FL1B workout 5 & 30 minutes HIIT.

I listened to Leigh Peele's Make My Body Hot series while I did it. I learned nothing new. LOL I am really starting to get frustrated with myself because I KNOW all this nutritional stuff; I know the exercise stuff. I know to stay away from the scale. I just DON'T.

I made myself a new promise tonight. I will allow myself to weigh in on the day that I start FL2. I'll take my measurements. Then nothing until I complete it. I WILL do this. The only cheat day I will have between now & the end of FL2 is Thanksgiving. I will indulge but I will not over indulge. Smaller portions. My father puts out a great spread that drives my mom nuts.

Every year we say no big spread. Every year we have the big spread. I think this year might be a little different because we will have my grandparents there & my grandmother needs a lot of attention. We'll see.

Anywhoodles, I'm not doing it...no scale, no tape. I'm having John hide the tape--guess he'll take it with him.

I realized tonight that I wasn't adding my plates up right for my deadlifts. I'm only doing 60 lbs. I think I've posted that I was doing 70. Yeah, not. Sixty is really about all I need to do at this point because my back gets so tender (I think I've mentioned that). I am able to stretch enough that it's not hurting but I don't want to push it too much. Still I'm really pleased with the weights I'm using. I've never lifted like this before.

Okay, off to bed. Back to work tomorrow. Big sigh.

Um, Deb, 60 is still heavy and an awesome weight to be lifting. Consider that the average American female bops around the equivalent of a kleenex box, you know?? It's just tough to put it in perspective, I know. Sort of makes you understand why men get so competitive about their penis size, lol.

Anyway, hang in! You are so inspiring!

You should be proud of you!!! You rock. Just look at how consistent you've been!

The eating thing is the hardest piece of the puzzle for most of us, I think. Certainly for this group it is, because most of us rather enjoy being physical, working up a sweat, etc. Sure, we may lose our workout mojos temporarily, but it never lasts long. But who in her right mind enjoys dieting?

And, yes, 60 lbs rocks. The weight you use doesn't matter, as long as it's enough to completely fatigue your muscles by the time you've completed the prescribed number of reps. Going heavier just for the sake of going heavier is never a good idea because it results in poor form or limited range of motion.

Ditto to what Marie and Laura have said. 60 rocks! It drives me BONKERS when the register belts at the stores say, "Please leave heavy items in cart." I put a thing of laundry detergent (liquid, concentrated to do 96 loads) on the belt, and the clerk refused to lift it off the belt. Oh...sorry...didn't know 'heavy' meant over 5 pounds.... Here, let me toss you my 48 pound bag o' dog food. Hee!

LOL Sandi, Erin is a whopping 5'2" & weighs 106 lbs soaking wet. She lifts those 45 lb bags of dog food like they're filled with air.

Laura, its interesting that you point out that lifting heavier for the sake of...is contraindicated. I was thinking about that last night. While I would love to be able to slap a couple pairs of 50s on my bar & do squats, I made the decision on Monday that if I have to come back to squats again in the near future, I will be concentrating more on form than weight. I felt my form was pretty slack last go round.
