Monday

Her Royal Amazoness wrote on Wendy's blog, "being at a point where I would have pretty much done ANYTHING to get lean."

That's pretty much where I am. I am working my ass off but my ass isn't coming off. I'm eating exactly what Wendy put on the plan on 9 out 10 days. When I "stray" it's usually missing food not adding. I had 3 beers on Friday. THAT'S IT! There is no physical reason (on the surface) for what is happening to my body.

This is what my struggle has been. Do pretty well on program, start to lose weight, eat one thing not "on the plan," and gain whatever I've lost & then some right back. I'm up to 166 this morning (I got on the scale because I was SURE the scale was wrong yesterday). I wanted to curl up in a ball & cry. How the fuck does a person gain 5 lbs in 3 days when that person did not eat that many calories. I swear I didn't! I ate exactly what Wendy put on the list & nothing more.

I'm lifting heavier. I'm doing HIIT. I'm eating right. In fact, my doctor said she wished I was eating more. Told her no way until some of this weight comes off. I told her that I'm working with Wendy--whose exercise & nutrition advice I respect very much. She was impressed with my food journals--which I printed out for her--okay the ones I have posted here. I'm going back to that again (see below).

I had an appointment today. I'm getting labs drawn tomorrow. I'll have the results by mid-day. Fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, and thyroid.

I'm drinking nothing but tea, Perrier (cuz it's cheaper than Pellegrino & lower in sodium), & water. When Dr. Brooks asked if I ever felt extremely thirsty I laughed & told her I wouldn't know thirst if it reached out & slapped me because I always have water at my finger tips.

Okay so here's what I've eaten so far today...

Breakfast
3/4 c 1% cottage cheese
1 c cooked Whole Grain Cream of Wheat
(forgot the fruit)

Snack
5 lg eggs (yes 5)
1 c chopped apple

Lunch
3 oz chicken cooked with dry fajita mix no oil added
1 c fresh salsa (pico de gaio) tomato, jalepino, & onion
forgot the sweet potato in my refrigerator at home

Snack
1 c plain fat free yogurt (no stevia today--I'm out & need to go to the store)
1/2 c frozen strawberries

Dinner (planned)
3 oz shrimp
2 oz before cooking whole grain Barillo pasta
1 c zucchine

Snack
1 scoop chocolate designer whey w/water
1 c broccoli

Today is a good example of me getting busy & forgetting something.

OK, so here is my question for you.

Not looking at the scale, does your body FEEL different? I mean, do you feel tighter all over? Anywhere?

My legs are tighter. Firmer--at the lower part of my quad; towards the knee. I was starting to think that my gut was smaller but I could actually SEE the weight gain there today. It's very scary that I was actually admiring how much smaller my stomach is on Thursday & then this morning as I was starting to get dressed I saw. I mean, really saw it.

I almost wish I had taken pictures on Thursday night & then again this morning. I feel like a freak of nature.

I just finished 30 good minutes on my bike. I did a 5 minute warm-up & a bunch of 1 to 2 intervals with a 3 minute cool down. I don't want to lift anything for another couple days.

I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE UP OR GIVE IN!!! So much for the Cheesecake Factory chocolate cake I was thinking I would have a bite of next week. Now I'll just watch.

I can say--so far, right now, I'm not feeling deprived. Myoplex Lite is pretty darn good & is satisfying my chocolate cravings. If only they made a cabernet or cosmo flavor. LOL

And if that's not enough I just had a shake & FORGOT that I can't eat or drink anything until after I get my blood work done. I won't be able to eat until after 9:00! Ugh

Deb, this all seems very weird. Could it possibly be some kind of water retention? Did you significantly increase the amount of salt you're consuming? Maybe check the sodium labels with the protein or anything else that might be new?

Regardless, it sucks. Hang in there! ((hugs))

Sometimes if you aren't eating enough your body will refuse to let go of the weight.

Or could you be insulin resistant? If you are then all the low fat dieting in the world won't work. What you are going through right now....eating low fat, lowering your calories and being super strict and not seeing results....that happens to a lot of people with IR.

I hope it is just one of those flukey things that will disappear and you will see the results you want soon.
