I'm going to do 30 minutes HIIT. I didn't do the Rachel Cosgrove workout last night. I ended up jumping around the room doing plyo stuff & some leg-over chair stuff a la Tony Horton.

Tonight I AM going to do the Rachel Cosgrove workout.

John pulled something in his quad/hip flexor last night. He was doing lunges & I heard it snap. It snapped so loudly that I thought it was his knees or elbow cracking (because they do). Nope. Today he has some pain but nothing serious. He's bummed because I won't let him workout tonight. NO WAY. He needs to recover.

We've been really enjoying working out. He's spotting me & encouraging my strength gains. But sometimes he makes me laugh when I'm lifting heavy. I think he's trying to kill me.

Came back to ask...

What is your favorite protein powder? I've only ever tried EAS Myoplex Lite & Designer Whey. Designer Whey leaves a lot to be desired IMO. I like Myoplex but would like to see if I'm missing something. I'm running out of powder & will be hitting the Vitamin Shoppe soon. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!

Diet looks great! How're you feeling on the Wendy plan?

Protein powder-wise I like the two you mentioned as well as anything I've tried. To save money I sometimes get the Myoplex Original instead of the Lite, because as far as I can tell the main difference between the two is portion size. At any rate, a half serving of the Original works out fine for me in terms of calories, protein, etc. Muscle Milk gets some rave reviews but I'm not a huge fan, though that may be because I've not tried the right flavors. I'm also not wild about the way the GNC house-brand MRP product tastes.

With protein powders, the only thing I really look at is, what kind of protein is it? Whey is the most bioavailable, or so I have read, so that tends to be my preference. I try to avoid soy because I worry about the phytoestrogens. It wouldn't be a big deal if I only had protein powder 1-2 times a week, but since I usually have at least one serving a day I think that's just too much soy.

There's a product from Beverly International that people really seem to like (I think this is what Wendy buys) but I haven't tried it. If you go for that one I'd love to hear what you think.

How'd the Rachel Cosgrove workout go? I inflicted a heavily modified version (30 seconds each of jump squats, mountain climbers, plyo lunges and inchworms, 1 min. 5-dot drill, rest 1 min, lather rinse repeat) on a client yesterday as a finisher to our workout, and she just about died. Poor baby :)

I like Optimum Nutrition ... it mixes really well and I love the Vanilla Ice Cream and Cookies & Cream flavors. :) Actually all the flavors are pretty good (I bought a small tub of root beer float last month that was yum), and they all are whey isolate.

Everyone does seem to like Muscle Milk except WOW does it have a lot of fat.

Speaking of fat, have you got a better handle on the fat intake in the eating plan? You'd be surprised (or maybe not, hehhehheh) how quickly it adds up, unless you're sticking with stuff like ff yogurt/egg whites/veggies.
