Good news, bad news

The good news...

My shoulder was in pretty rough shape. The tear was minimal but I had a bone spur & a lot of bursitis that needed to be removed. I got to see the pictures. The befores were pretty ugly. The afters are just pretty. The tissue was all fury (for lack of a better way of putting it) before but after it was smooth as a baby's bottom.

My recovery is going very well. Dr. Ross told me that my range of motion is much better than most 1-week post-op patients. She was surprised that I'm not taking any pain meds--not even naprosyn. My pain level is minimal.

I can start taking brisk walks today!!!! I can shower & get in the pool today!!!! I'm not allowed to lift more than 5 lbs right now.

I will start physical therapy to increase my resistive and passive range of motion & do strength conditioning. I'll do it at the clinic 2 to 3 days a week. Woohoo!

The bad news...

I have to go back to work on the 14th. Dammit to hell!!!

I'm glad you're healing up so well!

Hopefully you and J will be able to find a way to put those new contortionist skills of yours to work (nudge nudge wink wink)!

Shoot, only one more week off. Enjoy it!

(Don't think Laura was referring to better positions for shaving your armpits....hmmm) ;-)
