As much as I’m paying for this program you would absolutely think I would be getting more individualization. What I do get is an email once a month telling me that my attitude is great & that I’m working hard & an occasional post to my forum journal. But, no, not really any personal input. Here’s the email I got yesterday…
“I’m reviewing the 2 month progress reports and I am so pleased to so you doing so nicely and making a lot of changes in your thinking and habits. I know you feel like you haven’t been progressing as fast as you would like, but you’re working incredibly hard. This next habit will, I think, start to create some movement for you.”
The next habit is eat until 80% full. Um, how are you supposed to do that when restricting calories. Whatever.
I know Sandi really enjoyed the program. I really wanted to. But I’m getting really pissed that I’m paying all this money & not really learning much. Today’s lesson is to make a healthy pizza & tomorrow’s is to watch a movie; Super Size Me, King Corn, or Pumping Iron I & II. Seriously? That’s all fine & good for newbies but um, I’m a little beyond that. For the newbies the program (& it appears that a lot of the ladies on my forum are) they have only JUST talked about portion sizes but do not mention weighing & measuring. The big take away was to use smaller plates.
I will say that I love the workouts (& need to send the latest to you) but then I love to workout. I love anything that makes me sweat. I’m already thinking that I should go back & re-read Leah Peele’s stuff & do her program. Or The New Rules or some other tough workout. I am finally seeing some very cool changes in my arms. But that probably would be happening anyway since I’ve been working hard for a year now. I didn’t hit it this hard until Sandi & I went to see Wendy.
I know what I need to do for dieting/nutrition. It’s all in my head. I just need to use it. I’m using LiveStrong & tracking everything I eat & am HUNGRY but I know I have to be hungry to lose weight. I’m a little worried that I’m not losing faster because I’m eating an average of 1500 calories; yesterday was only ~1200. My profile is public…debgetsfit. I might be eating too much fat (cuz I’m eating turkey bacon & some nuts in the evening!) but mostly not.
If I had to say what my big take away is right now – it will be how to make nutritious stuff taste delicious. The cookbooks are awesome.
As a side note…my email is doing weird shit. I’m sure it’s the freaking DoD security but whatever. If there are weird repeats & skips & shit I’ll fix it when I get home.
