Thoughts

I'm sitting in my hotel room waiting to go downstairs to meet Jennifer; one of the other team members from McGuire that was lucky enough to travel to Tampa.

On Sunday John pointed out that my itinerary was messed up. I was due to be here Wednesday through Friday. My return trip was booked for Thursday. I had to change that at work on Monday. Tuesday was brutal. I didn't gt out of work until well after 5:00 PM; my normal day ends at 4:30. Ugh.

I arrived at the airport at 8:30 on Wednesday morning. I couldn't find Jennifer & Eric. I wasn't overly concerned until 9:20 when the plane started boarding. I called my assistant to have her verify that I hadn't screwed up completely because I didn't remember seeing either Jennifer or Eric at the office on Tuesday & I didn't get their phone numbers. My assistant called me back with their numbers and I found that they had been stuck in traffic.

The trip has been fun if not entirely warm. The high temperatures been in the low 60s; warmer than at home but still not the balmy near 80 degree temps we were hoping for.

On Wednesday, as previously reported, we went to PF Chang's for lunch. I had spicy chicken with brown rice. I ate all of the chicken with only 1 spoon full of brown rice. We went to dinner at Charley's Steakhouse; within walking distance of the restaurant. The food was incredible. We had stone crab claws, salad with real lettuce (as Sandi called it), & steak. It was an absolute crime to leave the leftovers to be thrown out.

The inspection went relatively well. The people I met with weren't as hostile in person as they were via email. I went through their databases & made some suggestions. I'll be emailing their leadership on Tuesday. Not that you will know what anything I say means; I'll post my report when it's complete.

Yesterday we had lunch at a seafood shack. I got to have fried gator tail, grouper, & conch chowder. Yummy. Fried. Bad me. I skipped the fries. For dinner we went to Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. I had baked (in garlic & butter) seabass with asparagus.

I wish I had brought my camera. The view from my room isn't wonderful but I can see Tampa Bay. Everything is decorated for the Super Bowl. The excitement that the game will be here is palpable.

I haven't worked out. I will do cardio & chest & arms on Saturday.

Oooo! Ooo! I've eaten in Ybor City! My ex-in-laws live in Tampa, and we'd go see them about once a year. I'd ask you to say hi for me, but I'm sure they would NOT appreciate hearing from me. BAHAHAHA!

You must be exhausted! But as Rose said, the weather DOES sound divine from up here in below-zero land. :)
