The training session was a disaster! Nurse Rachet doesn't get it.
I tried to tell her what I envisioned as her role intermingled with my role. All she was hung up on was what the outcome of the case would be. I tried to explain that at some point in her training I would absolutely love for her to know the ins & outs of the process but for now she needs to get a grasp on her role in the process. Don't worry about what happens before or after a case is sent to her. We told her it was her responsibility to request the medical records, create her own charts for the patients, keep me posted of all issues surrounding the case.
When we first started talking I explained that the charts that I had in front of me are my charts and have copies of what is in the medical record but also other administrative things that she does not (& should not) have. I opened one & gave her the name & social security number (how military member's are tracked). When I finished talking to her & was sending her on her merry way she reached for my charts. I pulled them back & reminded her that I had told her that she needed to make her own charts. I also told her that her supervisor, who was in the meeting with us, would tell her where to find the charts (her supervisor concurred).
Two hours later she called me to ask my where to get the charts!!! I reminded her that she needed to ask her supervisor. WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS WOMAN???
The rest of my day was absolutely insane. I spent the entire day running from meeting to patient briefing to meeting to 30 minute tele-con. At 4:25 on of our providers came to my office to discuss an issue. I was already in the office an hour late & this just made it even later.
I didn't get to the gym to do the functional fitness workout & I won't even attempt it tonight because we didn't even get home until 6:30 so I didn't even get to eat until 7. Now I'm tired.
I am going to do the workout tomorrow instead of resting. So there.
Today's eating wasn't as good as it should have been. Mary Jo's retirement ceremony was catered. I ate vegi lasagna (with some sort of cream sauce)--a small portion but not weighed, not measured. I also had some little meatballs & some boneless ribs & a salad with Light Ceasar dressing. And 3 bites of carrot cake with fab cream cheese icing.
Oh Oh Oh! I read somewhere that when you are dehydrated you will have selling. I thought that sounded like a bunch of huey. Well...I didn't get enough water to drink this morning & by 1PM I was noticing that my hands were swelling. I made it a point to start drinking water--downed a bottle immediately & then a second within the hour. The swelling in my hands went down. Hmmm, interesting little lesson.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Ack! Sorry about the work drama!
OH YEAH...when I'm dehydrated, I get sock marks on my legs, big time, and my face gets puffy. Needless to say, I drink a gallon of water a day to avoid the puffies...they are not pretty on me. LOL
