Beat!

My day started with frustration that I left my bag at home so I wouldn't be working out at lunchtime as planned. I realized this as I got out of my car at the commissary. When I went into the commissary I couldn't find any bags of salad that weren't anything other than romaine or iceberg (at first). It took me 5 minutes to weed through the bags that were tossed everywhere -- WTF is that all about when it didn't even open until 10 minutes before I got there.

My day ran long--I was on the phone until after 5 when I should have been out of there at 4:30. I'm not a salaried employee & won't get overtime (I should complain after reading Lesley's blog, right???).

I heard a traffic report that said there was an accident that had shut down my usual route home. So I took a back road. The speed limit on this road ranges from 35 to 50 depending on which township you are in but is mostly 50. I got stuck behind some fuck wad doing 35 in a 50. And the fucker was riding his breaks at any little bend in the road. I was finally able to pass only to get stuck behind more fuckers doing at least 5 mph under...

It took me an hour to get home. I didn't get to the produce stand.

It took me until almost 7 to get dinner heated -- thank God I had some nearly frozen, homemade, clean chicken soup in the refrigerator.

I am TIRED. I didn't want to workout BUT I DID!!!! I did the warm-up, 3 min steady state, & 16 minute challenge of CC Vol 5. The challenge consisted of 3-4 minute hill climbs with 2 minute rests. It was hard as hell.

It's done. Now I'm enjoying a nice vanilla Myoplex Lite. I would have loved to toss some berries into the blender with it but I DON'T HAVE ANY!!!

I haven't been able to figure out how to post my workout spreadsheet on google docs so here's what I did yesterday:

underhand bb rows: 4x10 - 35/45/50 (2 sets)
pulldowns 4x10 - 40 (2)/45 (2)
lat sweeps 4x/10 - 20/25 (2)/25
db military press 4x10 8 lb dbs
db side raises 4x10 3/5 (3 sets)

I went light on the shoulder stuff because I didn't want to stress my shoulder right out of the box. I will probably increase next week.

I also did ab work:

swissball crunches 3x20
bicycles 3x30 seconds
v-ups 3x7 (I couldn't make it to 10 & honestly the last 2 were of shitty form)
Romanian twists with 6 lb medicine ball 3x12 to each side

MY ABS ARE KILLING ME!!! And so are my triceps, lats, & between my shoulder blades. YEAH!!!

ETA: did I say I was tired? Apparently I lied because it is 1:44 AM & I'm wide awake. I'm drinking a cup of warm milk.

I've got a crazy busy day tomorrow--that wouldn't even cross my mind if it weren't for the fact that I am not asleep right now.

Oh--update of the new nurse at work...

The Chief Nurse came to see us (being Tracy & me) today. She told Tracy that the contracting office called & reported that this whiny bitch said that we aren't giving her something. What aren't we giving her? Don't know. But she isn't getting whatever it is she wants.

The Chief Nurse wanted to know how my meeting went with the new nurse. I told her that I thought it was positive, that I spent two hours telling her about the AF & how it is structured BUT that I had to initiate it & that the nurse had disappeared for several hours on the day of the big meeting with her. The Chief Nurse was P.I.S.S.E.D. She is thinking of telling the contracting office that we don't need the contract because we need a self-started & this woman apparently is NOT.

If we keep her & she eventually gets up & running it could be a big help to me. On the other hand, if we keep her & she doesn't get up & running we are stuck with dead weight & paying this woman about $60k to sit around & do NOTHING. If she goes I will continue doing my job in the same way I always do--it gets done when it gets done but it gets done.

Okay I'm off to bed but before I go...

Here's the $60,000 question---as you all know I suffer terribly from night sweats just before Aunt Flo pays me a visit. With the night sweats, I also suffer insomnia. I know this. I still keep a calendar, just because. I also know that about 3 or 4 days prior to Aunt Flo's arrival I will have this problem. I have a script for Ambien. Do I just take it on those nights before even knowing if I'm going to have trouble sleeping as a precaution? Unfortunately I can't take it at 2:00 AM because it will make me sleep for 8 hours. Would you do it?

Good night--maybe.
