Raking

The weather is incredible for late August. We hit 72.9 in the sun, according to our indoor/outdoor thermometer.

I spent about an hour raking leaves. I worked up an excellent sweat & am going to call it my cardio workout for today because I'm still having trouble with my calf. I can walk on it just fine but running/jumping/cycling is still bothersome. I'm going to have to find something that doesn't hurt soon, though.

I don't know why I thought 6 lbs just wasn't enough of a loss but when I really began to weigh out (pun intended) last month's diet & exercise I find that I actually did quite well to lose anything at all. My diet wasn't near what I want it to be. We'll see how the next month goes. I would really like to get below 160 again.

I'd like to make my goal 135 but I haven't seen that in so long I don't know if I can get there & I don't know how I would look. I know I liked the way my clothes fit at 140 but I didn't have any muscle definition--see my profile pic for me at 145. I'd like some muscles.

Tonight I will do NROL-O 1B, workout 2. Next round will bring my reps down to 12 & my rest periods down to 60 seconds (from 75).

ETA: My workout was hurl worthy! I got so over-heated doing Bulgarian split-squats I almost hurled. Go me! LOL

It is August where you live?? :-)

And, frankly, raking IS a cardio workout. I think sometimes we convince ourselves if it's not the artificial activity we introduce as fitness, it doesn't count, when really, the whole point of fitness is to be able to do stuff like rake without dying halfway through.

I think you should set your goal wherever you want it to be, and then re-evaluate if that becomes necessary later on.

PS: I hate raking! Can you come and do mine?

Deb, I know exactly what you mean. I wasn't as happy about my loss at first. I was working on the theory that since I have a LOT to lose the first few should come off fast. But then I looked back at last month and how sick I was and how little I worked out and realized it was actually all good.

The weather has been beautiful here too. I am loving it.
