Okay but not

I had 2 different doctors look at my leg today--at their insistence. My limping made them question what was wrong & when I explained what I did, one asked if my calf is "in tact." When I told her I had no idea she told me to squeeze the muscle & watch my toe. If my toe dips slightly I'm good...I'm good.

The other, a man, wanted to TOUCH my leg...I think he just wanted to touch it. Good thing I shaved today. LOL Seriosly--he wanted to make sure I didn't have a clot. He didn't believe it doesn't hurt to touch. It doesn't.

Both doctors agree, it's probably just a pulled muscle (like John's quad).

It no longer hurts to move my foot around. It only hurts to walk & that is getting easier.

I am icing--in fact, got some really good ice packs at work & an ace bandage. I cracked the ice & then wrapped the pack around my calf so that I didn't have to sit funny. I also kept it elevated when I could.

I was advised not to do anything that makes it hurt. If I can do a task (or an exercise) without any pain or discomfort I'm okay to do it.

Here's the most bizzaar thing...I can do squats with NO pain. I can do lunges with no pain. I just can't walk without pain. WTF is that all about?

Erin rides the train home from school in Philly at night (around 9PM) BY HERSELF. She doesn't like it. She used to have friends that she rode with. Those friends were BIG guys & don't have classes on Thursday this term. So I'm losing my Thursday night workouts to take the train in with John. We're going to meet her at the school.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to do some yoga tonight before we go. We have to leave at 8:15. I don't know if I'll have time. We'll see.

I didn't eat enough today. However I didn't cave to "junk food" in place of good food today!!! Yay me. I need to drink more water, too. Sigh.

Today I had:

breakfast
1 c shredded wheat w/milk
1/2 c Fage yogurt
1 apple diced with cinnamon

Snack
1/4 c Fage yogurt
1 c broccoli/cauliflower

Lunch
3 oz chicken
1 c broccoli/cauliflower

Dinner
3 oz salmon
4 oz sweet potato
1 c green beans

I probably won't get a snack tonight because we'll be out. Tomorrows another day. I will eat more.

Ouch, Deb! Ice, compression and elevation are all helpful when you've got an injury. If the injury is superserious rest is a good idea, but if it's a strain or minor tear light activity will help bring blood (oxygen, nutrients) to the muscle and facilitate healing.

Planned eats look great as always. WTG!
