1550-1800+ calories

Laura posted that to lose fat Power Eating advises that she should eat approx 1800 calories. Lou's NROL4W calculations say I should be eating about 1550. I'm trying to figure out how to eat that much & keep everything in check.

I'm going to buy some low fat (2%) cottage cheese & see about getting some low fat plain yogurt for making smoothies. I made a HUGE batch of brown rice last night so that I have that ready to throw in the microwave for dinner. I'm also going to buy some sweet potatoes. Cinnamon, no brown sugar, right???

We'll see how this goes...

No brown sugar! :)

I think it's better to start with more calories and then cut back as needed, honestly. No need to go in with guns blazing when all you might need at this point is a pea shooter. :)

I have been grilling my sweet potatoes. I peel/slice them and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes, then pop them on the Foreman for about 4 minutes. YUM!

I meant to put a smiley after the brown sugar comment...

I'm going to start planning my meals more carefully using Gyminee. Their meal planner is pretty awesome & will give me a grocery list after I enter it. That feature is one of their "Pro" features. I think it will be worth the $15 to have it right now.

Fortunately, John & Erin both enjoy eating better foods so this transition won't be a big deal for any of us.

I haven't looked at the gyminee plan. I should!

Good luck, Deb.

I have never thought of sweet potatoes on the Foreman. Very intriguing.
