So I'm thinking deprivation...

is part of the reason I can't get my diet under control.  I've been trying to eat the same things over & over & over for the last 2 years.  I want something with some flavor in my diet.  So...

I bought some turkey sausage today & am planning on some breakfast burritos.  Three egg whites, 1 yoke, a tbsp of cheddar (reduced fat), 1 turkey sausage patty, some chopped jalapeno, & some salsa wrapped in a whole grain tortilla.  Cooked with butter flavored pam.

Deb, have you looked at Cooking Light magazine? I picked up a copy after Wendy mentioned it and there are some different and interesting things to try.

I definitely get what you're saying, though....

DUH, I meant CLEAN EATING magazine. It's new, I think.

I haven't seen Clean Eating magazine for sale anywhere near me, but I do wholeheartedly recommend Cooking Light. You can serve Cooking Light recipes to company and they'll never know they're eating "diet" food--they're that good.

I also like Bill Phillips's Eating For Life cookbook (if blatant product placement bugs you you'll want to pass on this one), and I've heard good things about the South Beach Diet cookbook.

Also, certain ethnic cuisines are very diet-friendly. Thai, Vietnamese, and Greek/Mediterranean (careful with the olive oil!) come to mind. Mexican can also be good, but you might need to reduce the amount of sour cream/queso fresco/whatever in some recipes.

Um, actually, I think I just need you to move in and cook it for me. :-)

Check out the Hungry Girl cookbook! I bought it at my grocery store. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM. Cool different things to cook. Did I say yum?
