weigh in

I didn't lose weight this week but didn't gain either. That's good. My measurements stayed the same EXCEPT my shoulders. They came in an inch smaller. Weird. I wonder if John was reading the tape upside down...41.75 (my reading) as opposed to 42.75 (his reading). Whatever. I'm okay with them...Only okay because I want to see progress because I'm all about instant gratification. It's only the end of week 3; 21 to go & 21 to get it done.

I've got to do some cardio today. I'm doing the BodyRock.tv 500 workout. Later.

Go Deb!

Sounds like you are feeling good and strong, despite the scale. That's awesome!

I am feeling really strong. The scale not only pisses me off in the numbers but I can't wear ANY of my pants anymore. I'm currently at a size 12 in pants again. WTF? And that pisses me off even more & I wonder if I should just suck it up & stay this size as much as I HATE it.

I don't get it. I was 99% compliant this week (I had 1 piece of raisin bread last night) & can't lose weight.

Then there's water retention from being outside in the heat. Tonight my hands are so swollen I am considering taking off my wedding band. That's water from the heat, I'm sure but WTF? I'm up 8 lbs from this morning because of it. I got on the scale to see how bad it is...THAT'S NUTS! It will take me a week to get rid of it.

And on top of that, I haven't been able to go to the bathroom for 3 days. Ever since increasing the fish oil to 30 mg a day I'm stopped up. I've asked on the board about it & got, "drink more water." Um, drinking a gallon day, here. Physically cannot drink anymore.

Going to buy psyllium tomorrow & have to deal with the gas issues that causes. Fuck me.

PMS much? Yep. That's me.

I'm sorry, Deb. I guess it's all patience and whatever, but my scale doesn't move either, so don't feel bad. ((hugs))

PS: Your comment did make me laugh, though. I hope John is being careful around you this evening! LOL

K, so here's my experience with Precision Nutrition. I didn't lose any weight. All that yummy fat did me in. Yes, it's healthy. But yes, it's caloric.

Moral of the story, if you want one? Watch your intake of the fats. That is my advice. :)

But YMMV. Sandi????

There is a product called Natural Calm that is a magnesium supplement. I take it the same way I take all supplements...sporadic, LOL. I took it tonight, because my quads are cramping up BIG TIME after today's ride.

I mention it, because a side effect of it is loose stools. That's how they say to determine how much you need...start with X TBS, and increase by a TBS until you get loose stools, then back down by 1 TBS. Or something close to that, LOL. It's a powder you mix in warm water and drink like tea...doesn't taste bad at all. I've never had a gassy reaction from it. Might be worth a try.

You'll probably lose 8 pounds as soon as you can go to the bathroom again. ;)

Hmmmm. That's interesting, Sandi.

And also, interesting, Deb ... when I boosted my fish oil I got loose stools. I think it affects some people that way, and others, well, the opposite!

Anyway. Strange.

Er, why did I just get a new invitation to view this blog? Deb, did you kick me out recently??

PS: I seem to recall in the one month that I was on PN that we didn't even get to the food part of the equation in that timeframe, so I guess patience is the name of the game. I'm sure you'll do great.

I didn't lose with PN either. In fact I may have gained. But then I wasn't doing LEP either.

I agree with Wendy about the fats being a problem if you're looking to drop weight. They're certainly beneficial from a health & skintone standpoint but they still pack a whopping nine calories per gram and I personally find they don't do much to appease my hunger. The volume just isn't there.

I also think PN is too generous in terms of the calories it allows on a fat loss plan, at least for women. IIRC PN allowed me around 1750 calories a day. I certainly wouldn't gain weight on that, but I wouldn't lose much either. Maybe half a pound a week? I personally have trouble staying motivated unless I'm losing a little faster than that.

We're all different, though, and of course the beauty of PN is that it's infinitely tweak-able.
