Not that kind of it!
I took my measurements today. Weight & inches. I only lost 0.5 lbs this week. Down to a solid 159. It made me want to cry. Then I took my measurements. That's where the work is showing.
I had to measure my hips 3 times because I couldn't believe it--I've lost an entire inch in two weeks (see this post for measurements on 25 Oct).
Waist 30"
Hips 40"
L thigh 24.5
R thigh 24.5
Under boob 31
Under arm 33.5
L bicep 13
R bicep 13
Belly button 35.25 HOLY CRAP
I can see the changes. I am struggling to learn that the scale don't mean shit. I know it. I just don't don't BELIEVE it.
I'm reading The Zone by Barry Sears. It's a slow read because it makes my head buzz. Today I read something that I know I've heard before but don't think I've gotten until today. He said, "It's genetically impossible to lose more than 1 to 1 1/2 pounds of body fat per week--you just can't lose body fat any faster. You can lose more weight, but that will be primarily water loss and muscle-mass loss. That's why people on quick weight loss programs look so haggard--they're losing muscle mass." It was a great aha moment for me.
I suddenly realized that (even though I was following Wendy's plan for me very closely) I am doing it RIGHT. I really do see that my flab is shifting.
My assistant started on Monday. She is going to work out so much better than I could have ever have imagined. I'm going to be able to start using my allowed 3 hours a week for fitness within the month!!! YEAH BABY!
I've been approached by a couple of the new girl Airmen to help them learn to run distance runs. I don't "publicize" that I do that I have done this stuff. Turns out that our senior enlisted person has been talking about me as being a role model for them. It's the most bazaar thing for me because I didn't even know that she knew my name never mind knowing something personal about me.
I'm thinking about buying the Fat Loss Troublershooter books. Has anyone read them? Are they worth it?
ETA: I received Advanced Yoga today. Did the Hip Opening workout. I enjoyed it. Rodney Yee does talk more than Eoin Finn but the workout is different & flows very quickly.
I didn't realize how tight my body is until starting. I do stretches but nothing for any extended period. Adding yoga is going to have to be a must.

Woot! On the measurements! Way to go! I have a "relationship" with the scale also. Mine's dysfunctional, LOL.
So glad your assistant is a good one. You hate to end up with the ones where, "Having him help is like losing two good men."
Sounds like you have a gym at work? Totally jealous, especially now that you will have time to use it.
What a nice compliment to be a role model! Sometimes people around us notice a lot more than we think they do.
I'm on McGuire AFB which is adjacent to Ft. Dix so I have my choice between the newly equipped AF gym or the worn out Army gym. The Army also has a swimming pool so I can swim during the day, too.
My relationship with the scale is not only dysfunctional, it's co-dependent. I can't stay away from it.
Deb, I'm thrilled you're seeing results. Way to go!!!!
FWIW I think we're all way too hung up on what the scale says. It's hard to ignore it when even doctors tell us we should weigh no more than X or have a BMI of no more than Y. A couple of the trainers at my gym are routinely told they need to lose weight because they have BMIs of 26-27 ... even though their body fat percentage is in the 12-15 range (quite healthy though not ultra-lean for males) and the extra weight is due to the large amount of muscle they're carrying. Admittedly it's going to be a rare woman who has a BMI of more than 25 without also carrying too much body fat for optimal health, simply because women don't build muscle the way men do. But it happens.
Your progress is going just as it should, Deb. If you lose too quickly you'll lose muscle and, aesthetically, your face will show it. Mine did at/before my show and I never want to let that happen again!
Just keep on making progress and pushing yourself.
WTG on being a role model at work -- that's so cool (and motivating too, huh?)
Go Deb! Go Deb!
