Frustrations of a different sort

John is back in DC this week. We are extremely spoiled in working for the government. We get out of work at 4:30. Period. Not while in DC. He didn't get out of the office until 6:15 tonight. He had an argument with the project manager down there about the time John will be working there. He wants John down there for the entire 90 days. John is coming home for Thanksgiving weekend. The PM wants John to work down there that week. John's boss doesn't even want John down there for the entire 90 days. Oh & they are working weekends.

John's going to call "home" tomorrow & talk to his own PM & get guidance. If that's what they want, they are going to have to compensate him more. Either pay him overtime or give him comp time.

Then as if that's not enough, he took the car because it's in better shape than his truck. Yesterday the "check gauges" light came on. Then I noticed the oil pressure gauge fluctuating wildly. Today one of the guys at work checked the oil for me. THERE WAS NONE. He went to the store for me & got oil & put it in. We don't know where the oil went but the dip stick is still showing no oil. Tomorrow I get to take the damn thing to the shop. George is going to pick me up. He's a doll!!! BUT NOT THAT KIND OF DOLL.

I miss John like crazy.

I'm tired. I'm going to bed.

The one thing that drives me batty is having to handle car maintenance on my own. Ugh. My sympathies! And I agree with you and John...if those are the expectations, then he does need to be compensated for it.
