The day after...

I'm sick. Not stomach sick. Head cold sick. It sucks. Erin brought it on. I should punish her in some manner.

I don't know if I'll have the energy to do anything today. I wanted to get a little shopping done & some housework but...I will try.

I started the day with a squirt of Zicam up the nose & a big glass of Airborne. What are your "home remedies" to help you get over a cold quickly?

I ate entirely too much yesterday. I had Italian cold cuts (which you know are high in fat) & cheeses, lasagna, eggplant parm, meatballs, pork loin, turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, greenbean casserole, & pumpkin pie!!! It took 6 hours to eat all of that.

Have a great day. Hopefully I'll post some sort of workout later.

(((Deb)))

Feel better soon.

Water and herb tea, Zicam and Airborne are my not-so-secret weapons when I'm fighting off a cold. Soup's good too, the spicier the better. If you haven't got a turkey carcass on the premises, send Erin out to the store for a chicken. Roast it, cut the meat from the bones to use in other recipes, then roast the bones (to deepen the flavor) and toss 'em into a stock pot with some water, onion, carrots, celery, pepper, a bay leaf ... whatever you like, really. Simmer for a while, skim off the fat, and you'll have a lovely base to which you can add rice, noodles, veggies ... whatever.

Oh, and as far as working out goes, my general rule of thumb for working out when sick is that it's okay as long as your symptoms are from the neck up, you're not running a fever, and you take it a little easier than you otherwise might. Strenuous effort will tax your immune system and may prolong your illness.
