Racing together

Today a bunch of us did the Race for the Cure. There are over 40k participants for the 5k run/walk & 1 mile fun walk.  It's a little tough to actually run because walkers do NOT walk on the right.  Ignorant fools walk right in the path of some real fliers!  Dumbasses.  

Erin ran her first 5k.  I mean, she actually ran the entire thing.  She was very proud of herself.  And I was really happy to be running with her.  

My friend, Leanne ran, too.  But once we left the starting line she was off with another friend that seemed to want to run.  They did it in 30 minutes, including the walk from the starting line until the crowd thinned out enough.  Way too fast for me!  

Erin, Alana, & I did it in 34 minutes not including the walk because I started the timer on my HRM.  Including the walk at the start it was 36 min, 9 seconds.  Pretty darn good if you ask me.

Erin gave me a cool red cover & keyboard cover for my MacBook.  I really like it.  John gave me $50 Dick's money!  Woohoo new workout attire.  AND subscriptions to Triathlete Magazine & Runner's World!  YEAH BABY!
